Washing BMW cars is a chorus that many BMW owners like. The process can be simple, such as vacuuming the cabin and removing external dirt, or you can perform detailed treatment along the way. In both cases, there is personal satisfaction that is difficult to quantify. One thing is certain: if you clean or maintain your BMW regularly, your car will be in a better condition and even retain its value.
However, there are a large number of BMW car cleaning products, and the choice is more difficult than ever. In this article, we will share with you some of the products we use our own BMW cars: from the very special 1M to E92 M3, i3 electric cars and so on. Before we start, here are some cleaning and/or detailed descriptions of the basic tools required by BMW:
In order to get really clean wheels, the best way is to remove the wheels first. An important warning is that you apply the cleaner to the cooled wheels. Therefore, when you leave the 25-minute hot lap stage, you will forget to use these things to get the brake dust of the M3 wheels. Many companies recommend spraying wheel cleaner directly on the wheels, letting them sit for 5 minutes, and then rinsing them with water.
We have found that just adding some effort to the wheel cleaning brush can make the wheel much cleaner, and much less detergent is used in the process. 303 Tire Balm and Protective Agent
With the movement of the wheels, you can now focus on the appearance of the BMW. Of course, orders are interchangeable, so it is entirely up to you to decide where you want to start first. By far, the safest way to wash a car is to use two buckets. Next, use safe car wash soap. There are many good choices, but we have used two of them in the past: Mr. CWS_402_16 Pink Foam Car Wash Soap from Chemist and Ultimate Wash & Wax from MEGUIAR.
Now it’s time to prepare some good cleaning pads and start maintenance on the exterior body of BMW. It is important to start from the top to prevent the dirt from the lower part of the car from dragging upwards. After soaking the BMW in soap, grab the hose and rinse the car.
When drying the car, please pay attention to the type of towels used. When the BMW is drying, it is important to use high-quality microfiber towels. Microfiber waffle woven towels are most suitable for drying car bodies. But please do not use the same towel on wheels or tires. Always prepare dedicated equipment for those highly polluted areas.
Of course, there are many options for microfiber towels, but this is a set we recently used on BMW 1M: chemistry expert MIC_506_12Professional high-end microfiber towels
When it comes to leather care, no one size fits all solutions. BMW has many different types of leather, as well as a variety of general non-leather options to suit different budgets and styles. Therefore, we will not introduce a complete BMW leather cleaning guide here. You can read our dedicated article at any time. However, here are some products we use:
