As demand soars, logistics companies set a record for six months

Baxter Freight, a logistics company headquartered in Nottingham, announced record first-half results as it now forecasts a turnover of “at least” 28 million pounds in 2021.
The company said that despite the impact of COVID-19 and the complexity of Brexit, which poses a challenge to the global supply chain and logistics industry, it has achieved results.
The half-year turnover has increased from 7.7 million pounds in June 2020 to 12.9 million pounds in June 2021. It is estimated that the turnover in 2021 will be at least 28 million pounds, which is 10 million pounds higher than the previous year’s figure.
Baxter Freight stated that it is now advancing its “fast-forward growth plan” and expects to have a turnover of more than 35 million pounds by the end of 2022, which will help hire another 50 employees.
A net increase in staff has been achieved in 2021, and it will exceed 100 for the first time by the end of the year.
Further developments include investing in its air and sea teams, reflecting the British government’s policy of developing overseas trade.
This, combined with the new 24/7 customs support team developed for Brexit, has doubled the number of people in operational positions since December 2020.
Managing Director Peter Isler said: “Although the pandemic has caused unexpected delays in our Fast Forward plan, we are very pleased to see not only the recruitment activity but also our forecast data. Because we are better than before.
“Our well-known customer service has provided great support to our customers throughout the pandemic. Most importantly, we have developed market-leading solutions for imports between the UK and Europe, as well as for DAP and DDP exports. This This allows us to surpass our Fast Forward plan-with a turnover of 12.9 million pounds in the first half of this year, and an estimated turnover of at least 28 million pounds in 2021–3 million pounds higher than our target.”
